BBQ Rub: The Best Last-Minute Father's Day Gift

This homemade BBQ rub is the perfect last minute gift for Father's Day. With just the right mix of sweet, savory, and a hint of heat, this rub brings out the best in all his BBQ favorites.

Equipment

  • Wide mouth funnel
  • 8 oz Mason jar (or larger if doubling the recipe)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cane sugar or brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/3 cup paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Place the funnel into the jar.
  • Pour the spices into the jar one at a time, gently shaking the jar after each one to spread them out and make them level.
  • Layer the spices, making a fun rainbow-ish design!
  • Screw the lid tight and tie twine or ribbon around the top.
  • Store in the pantry and shake well before using.
