Sweetened with honey and packed with nutritious ingredients, this crunchy homemade granola recipe is one you’ll be coming back to again and again. Save your money and make it in big, delicious batches!

Why You Need This Homemade Granola Recipe
- Healthy – Aside from skipping the additives you find in store-bought granola, you get to source quality organic ingredients like gluten-free oats and local raw honey.
Raw honey does more than sweeten. It’s rich in natural vitamins and minerals, supports digestion, has antimicrobial properties, and tends to have a gentler impact on blood sugar compared to refined sugars. - Inexpensive – A batch of homemade granola (about 6 cups) might cost around $10. Compare that to $5 for just a 1-cup bag of decent quality granola from the store.
- Versatile – Granola is versatile both in how you serve it and what you put in it. You can add nuts, seeds, dried fruit — whatever suits your taste.
Serve it like cereal with milk, layer it in a yogurt parfait with fresh fruit, or grab a handful as you’re racing out the door. Homemade granola is a pantry staple our family has come to rely on — quick and easy to make — and eat!
Equipment
Baking sheet(s)
Food Processor – helpful but not required
Parchment paper – optional

Ingredients
Oats – I use organic sprouted rolled oats.
Nuts – Whatever you have on hand! I like using up our walnuts and pecans since no one really likes them on their own.
Cinnamon – Optional but delicious.
Vanilla – Optional but delicious.
Coconut oil – I’ve heard you can use butter as well ; )
Honey – Try the health food store or farmer’s market for organic raw honey. You’re not just nourishing your body—you’re also supporting your local bees and the people who care for them!

Instructions for Homemade Granola
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper (if using).
Step 2: Place the oats and nuts into a food processor and pulse into bite-size pieces. You can chop the nuts with a knife if you don’t have a food processor.
Step 3: Pour the chopped oats and nuts into a large bowl and stir in the cinnamon.
Step 4: Gently heat the coconut oil in a small pot at low to medium heat. Once melted, stir in the honey and vanilla.
Step 5: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir well.
Step 6: Tip the granola onto a baking sheet and spread it out evenly.
Step 7: Bake for 10 – 20 minutes or until the granola is just starting to turn gold. Let it cool on the baking sheet before breaking into pieces and storing in an airtight jar or container.

FAQs
How long is homemade granola good for?
This is one of the great things about homemade granola — you can store it in an airtight jar or container in the pantry for a couple months. But let me assure you, it’s so delicious, it won’t last nearly that long ; )
Can I use maple syrup instead of honey for homemade granola?
Definitely. Maple syrup, like honey, is a sticky liquid that will coat the ingredients evenly and bind them together.
